Cross Training

On Easter Sunday we headed up to Breakneck Ridge to get out of the city for the day. The train dropped us off seemingly in the middle of nowhere, with just a set of wooden stairs serving as the platform. From there we wandered up into the woods for what turned into a five-hour hike followed by an hour-long walk to the nearest train station and a final, painful, sprint for the train! As you could probably guess from the photo, it took a fair amount of climbing and scrambling to make it to the top, and some serious effort not to roll back down on the decline! It was more exhausting than I was expecting, but reminding myself that it will likely take me that long to run the marathon kept things in perspective!
